Executive Bio
Jeffrey Sprecher - member CEORater CEO HOF (Class 2020). Mr. Jeffrey C. Sprecher, also known as Jeff, founded Intercontinental Exchange (The ICE). Mr. Sprecher has been a director and Chief Executive Officer since the Company’s inception and has served as Chairman since November 2002. As Chief Executive Officer, he is responsible for ICE’s strategic direction and operational and financial performance. Mr. Sprecher acquired CPEX, ICE’s predecessor company, in 1997. Prior to acquiring CPEX, Mr. Sprecher held a number of positions, including President, over a fourteen-year period with Western Power Group, Inc., a developer, owner and operator of large central-station power plants. Mr. Sprecher holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin and a Master of Business Administrator from Pepperdine University.
